Miami Gardens, Fla- The volleyball team has won its last 4 matches with the latest victims being Southeastern.  The Bobcats needed 4 games but finished off Southeastern to earn another key Sun Conference victory.

Bobcats put the Fire away LAKELAND, Fla.--The St Thomas University Volleyball team took the match from Southeastern Fire in straight games, Saturday afternoon, in the two schools' first ever Sun Conference meeting. St. Thomas came back from a six-point deficit in game one to win 26-24 behind the hot hand of Slavica Stefanovic who recorded seven kills in the set. Fernanda Neves also had 12 assists in the game. The Bobcats ran away with game two, 25-16, as Stefanovic had six kills and Neves added seven assists. St. Thomas then finished off the sweep by defeating the Lady Fire, 25-18, in game three. Once again Stefanovic and Neves had huge games, this time Stefanovic with seven kills and Neves with 13 assists. Stefanovic finished the match with 20 kills, while Neves finished with 32 assists. Defensively, St. Thomas's Angie Ardilles finished the match leading both teams overall with 19 digs. St. Thomas will look to continue recent success as they are on the road vs #20 SCAD at 7 p.m., Friday

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- The St. Thomas Bobcats lost to the Embry-Riddle volleyball team Friday night in a three set match (25-21, 25-15, 25-14). Slavica Stefanovic (Fr. OH)was the only bright spot for the Bobcats offensively, as she recorded 12 kills. Angie Ardiles (Fr. Lib) led St. Thomas defensively with 15 digs. The Eagles were off to a first set victory over STU, 25-21. ERAU picked up the momentum in set two and held the Bobcats to just 15 points. The Eagles served up five aces and tallied 12 kills which made the difference for them to soar over the Bobcats, 25-15. ERAU took home the match after a kill by Anastase closed out the set, 25-14. St. Thomas had a poor showing offensively as their hitting average was negative for the first time this season. Bobcats look forward to amending today's performance tomorrow Saturday, at 1 p.m. in their first ever match-up vs Southeastern University.
