MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. - Jason Romero of Dwyer High School in Palm Beach signed with the St. Thomas Men's Basketball team Wednesday.  Romero was part of a team that finished 25-4 this season in the state's 5th District.

Bobcat standout Antonio Jones was named to the NAIA D-II All-American 2nd team for the second time in his career. Jones, STU's All-time leading scorer, averaged 26.9 ppg and a 47.2 percent field goal percentage in his senior season. DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Jones closed out his senior as St Thomas’ all-time leading scorer with over 2,000 career points. He also set a single-game scoring record with 32 against Embry-Riddle on Feb. 13 and finished the season averaging 26.9 points per game, which is fifth in NAIA II this season. He also ranks 14th in the country in steals per game with 2.6. Jones was also named to the First Team All-Sun Conference.

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Men’s Basketball team began postseason play Tuesday night by facing Warner University in the first round of the Sun Conference Tournament. The Bobcats surrendered a 5-point lead with 30 seconds remaining, and were ousted 69-70.

NAPLES, Fla. – The Bobcats took their game on the road this weekend to close out the regular season against Ave Maria. The Bobcats fell to the Gyrenes 59-69. STU struggled mightily in the opening period, scoring only 17 points to give Ave Maria a 7-point lead heading into the break. Both teams came out firing in the second half, but the Bobcats couldn’t out-score the Gyrenes and lost the contest in the end. The Bobcats were out-rebounded 24-31 and shot a dismal 33 percent from the field. STU also surrendered 19 field goals on 15 assists. Antonio Jones led the game in scoring with 27, while also dishing 5 assists and grabbing 4 rebounds. Preston Jackson provided quality minutes off the bench with 10 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists. STU falls to 11-15 (7-9 TSC) and will wait to see their seeding in the Conference Tournament.

NORTH MIAMI, Fla. - The Bobcats had just two games left in the regular season heading into Johnson & Wales Wednesday night. STU rolled to their 7th conference win, defeating the Wildcats 75-59. Antonio Jones continued his stellar scoring with a 32-point performance on 8-of-16 shooting, including a near perfect 14-of-15 from the free-throw line. Tracy Razz came off the bench with 13 points and 5 rebounds, while Jarell Coakley supported with 6 points and 9 rebounds. The Bobcats are in a three-way tie for 4th in the conference with a record of 7-8 (11-14 overall). The two other teams are Webber Int'l and Fla. Memorial. STU split their matchups with Webber this season, 1-1, but lost both against Fla. Memorial. STU will go to Ave Maria Saturday at 7 PM, in a game that could be considered a must-win in regards to conference tournament seeding.
