BABSON PARK, FL - The St. Thomas University Bobcats softball team (19-21, 8-4 in the Sun Conference) completed a three game series sweep of conference opponent the Webber International Warriors (25-16, 7-5 in TSC) winning game one 1-0, game two 2-0, and game three 6-4. The series sweep puts the Bobcats in second place in the conference behind Warner Southern University.
Several Bobcats had shinning moments throughout the weekend but the practically untouchable pitching of Kelly Deibler stood out in games where two or more runs could have resulted in Bobcat losses. She was the closer for games one and two for the Bobcats. She recorded the two saves pitching 7 innings, allowing 1 hit and striking out 8 batters.
Though games one and two were dominated by superb pitching by both teams game three featured stronger bats. The biggest and best bat was carried by Jessica Vera. She had three hits on three at bats and drove in a run. When Vera was on base she also did a good job running the bases and scored two runs. The Bobcats play again April 24 at home against Edward Waters College.
