Former St. Thomas University guard Cesar Chavez-Jacobo is playing for the Bameso basketball club in the Dominican Republic District National (D2) league. He has appeared in the team’s first three games playing point-guard behind former Florida International (NCAA DI) and Miami Tropics (USBL) standout Nelson “Junior” Matias. His best game to this point in his young professional career produced 6 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists in limited minutes.
Chavez-Jacobo is coming off a year where he averaged 14 points, 3 assists, 8 rebounds, and recorded 14 double-doubles while providing senior leadership to the 2008-2009 Sun Conference Championship team. Chavez-Jacobo also graduated this past year with his Masters degree in Business Administration.
