Vanterpool led the Bobcats with 15 points and 8 rebounds
MIAMI GARDENS, Fla.- Despite turning the ball over 29 times, the Lady Bobcats managed to survive a tough matchup against conference rival Florida Memorial Saturday. Four Bobcats scored in double figures as STU finished the Lions off, 63-53.
Both Fla. Memorial and STU had a difficult time hanging on to the ball as the two teams were tied in turnovers for the game. The Bobcats got separation by cleaning the glass. STU out-rebounded the Lions, 35-22, 16 of which came from the offensive side of the ball. The Ladies also shot a cool 46 percent from the floor (23-50). The Bobcats now sit alone in second place in the Sun Conference, 6-2, and improve to 13-7 on the season. STU will go to Warner on Tuesday for a 6 PM game.
Alexandria Vanterpool has turned it on for Sun Conference play, and led the game in scoring with 15 points and 8 rebounds to boot. Cindy Castrillon, Amanda Fernandez, and Carissa Staiano supported with 10 apiece.
