Bobcats lose the final game of the regular season, 59-69 to Ave Maria

Preston Jackson had a nice game off the bench for the Bobcats
NAPLES, Fla. – The Bobcats took their game on the road this weekend to close out the regular season against Ave Maria. The Bobcats fell to the Gyrenes 59-69. STU struggled mightily in the opening period, scoring only 17 points to give Ave Maria a 7-point lead heading into the break. Both teams came out firing in the second half, but the Bobcats couldn't out-score the Gyrenes and lost the contest in the end. The Bobcats were out-rebounded 24-31 and shot a dismal 33 percent from the field. STU also surrendered 19 field goals on 15 assists. Antonio Jones led the game in scoring with 27, while also dishing 5 assists and grabbing 4 rebounds. Preston Jackson provided quality minutes off the bench with 10 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists. STU falls to 11-15 (7-9 TSC) and will wait to see their seeding in the Conference Tournament.
