Men's Tennis wins close match over SCAD, 5-4

Ricky Vasquez won the final match of the day to push the Bobcats into a 5-4 victory over SCAD Sunday

SAVANNAH, Ga. - The Men's Tennis team traveled to Savannah this weekend to take on #19 SCAD.  The #15 Bobcats overcame the close match and beat the Bees, 5-4.

SCAD took the match’s first point in doubles play over Adrian Escarate and Esteban Mesa, 8-5. The Bobcats stepped up, however, and grabbed the remaining two doubles’ points as the Bache/Gayoso and Acevedo/Rifkin pairings each won 8-2.
 
In singles action, SCAD made a push towards lead, tying the match with two early wins. The Bobcats weren’t done yet, and won 2 of the final three matches to come out victorious, 5-4. Ricky Vasquez was the hero for the Bobcats, as he won the final singles match, 6-2 6-3, to close out the overall victory.
 
The Bobcats improve to 5-2 and will welcome St. Vincent to campus Thursday for a 2 PM match.
