STU improves to 8-12 with win over Wilmington Thursday

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – STU welcomed Wilmington University to Esposito Field Thursday during the Wildcats tour of South Florida.  The Bobcats beat Wilmington 10-5.

 

The game was not short on offense as STU tallied 14 hits compared to 11 from the Wildcats.  It was a true team effort as no Bobcat had more than 1 RBI, yet STU was able to total six in the contest. 

 

STU got up 3-1 after the first inning and managed a 2-run 3rd to take a 6-2 advantage.  The Bobcats got the decision in the 8th after closing out the Wildcats with 2 runs.  Dane Stone was credited with the STU win, while several Bobcats provided sound relief pitching.  Victor Madrazo had 3 hits in 5 ABs for the Bobcats while Lance Larimer and Robert Rodriguez recorded 2 hits and 1 RBI apiece.

 

STU improves to 8-12 on the season and will welcome Viterbo University Tuesday for a 6 PM game.
