Bobcats Sweep Double Header from Florida Tech

The St. Thomas Lady Bobcats swept their double header this afternoon against Florida Tech. The Bobcats took the first game 4-2, and followed that effort up with another strong showing, taking game two 4-0. In game one, Gina Guffanti got the win going four strong innings. Nikki Sanchez relieved her and pitched the final three innings to close out the game. Cindy Castrillon drove in two runs with a single to cap a three run third inning which gave the Bobcats the lead they would never relinquish.

 

Game two was started and won by Amanda Heyl, going 3 2/3 innings. She was followed by Nikki Sanchez, who went 1 1/3 innings. Bianca Isolino pitched the final two innings for the combined shutout. The Lady Bobcats jumped out to the early lead with two runs in the first inning. They added two more runs in the 3rd inning, taking the game 4-0. The Bobcats will return to conference play this Friday as they host Webber at 5 PM.
