The St. Thomas Lady Bobcats finished up their regular season this weekend when they took the trip up to Georgia to face SCAD. The Bobcats came away empty after they were swept. Friday's game was lost 9-1 before the two on Saturday were dropped 8-0 and 3-2.
Friday's only run was scored on a leadoff home run by Carissa Albizu. For the rest of the game the Bobcats could only piece together four more hits while allowing nine runs to SCAD over five innings.
During game one of Saturday's double header saw the Lady Bobcats once again had only 5 hits while not being able to push any runs across. The highlight of the game for St. Thomas was Tina Diaz going 2-2 at the plate. Game two saw the Bobcats play much better as they were able to score two runs, even though they only had just four hits. Monica Garcia had both a run scored and an RBI. Jessica Vera scored the other run for the Bobcats while Carissa Albizu had the other RBI.
The Lady Bobcats finished their regular season with a record of 14-25 while going 6-9 in the Sun Conference. The Bobcats finished fourth in the conference and will take that seed into the Sun Conference Tournament being played this Saturday and Sunday in Winter Haven, Florida. The Bobcat's first game will by played Saturday at 4:30 PM against the number one seed Warner University.
