Bobcats fall to Northwood in season opener

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. -The St. Thomas men’s soccer team opened their 2010 season on Tuesday afternoon, facing off against Sun Conference opponent Northwood (Florida). The Bobcats dropped their first game of the season, losing 3-0.

 

The Bobcats (0-1-0) took thirteen shots total, five on goal. The Seahawks (1-0-0) took thirteen shots, with five on goal as well. Northwood took an early 2-0 first-half lead and continued their upbeat pace throughout the remainder of the contest. St Thomas starting goalkeeper, Aaron Jones was sidelined due to a concussion he suffered in practice the day before. Carlos Uculmana took over the starting duties and made two saves in the game. Seahawks Goalkeeper Andy Robertson had five saves in the match.  This contest was not considered a conference match.

 

The Bobcats return to action on Friday, August 27th as they travel to Clearwater University for their second game of the season at 5 PM.
