MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. -- St. Thomas men’s soccer team lost to Florida Memorial University 3-0 on Wednesday. The game was much closer than the score suggests, as STU was actually very dominant on the offensive end through out the match.

The Bobcats compiled 17 shots, and were able to direct 9 of those attempts toward goal, yet were ultimately unable to finish on any of those opportunities. Goalie Aaron Jones finished with four saves.

Of Florida Memorial’s goals, two were scored by #18 Carlos Vilon and the other by #11 Gabriel Ricca. FMU had a total of 18 shots, Goalie Rubiel Vazquez led FMU defense with nine saves, and his back row helped him out as well.

St. Thomas now looks to turn their season around at home.  The Bobcats next home match is September 4th against Southern Nazarene University @ 3:30 pm.
