Nickerline Montina winner of The Sun Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week. It marks the second time this season that Montina has won the award.
Montina earned Player of the Week based on her play in STU's two wins over conference foes last weekend. On Friday night vs. Ave Maria, Montina scored 35 points, the second-most ever scored by a Bobcat in a single game. To help fuel the comeback victory over the Gyrenes, she scored 23 of her points in the second half and four more points in overtime. The performance came on a night that Montina and fellow senior
Maddie Cummings were both honored for scoring 1,000 career points in pre-game ceremonies.
On Saturday afternoon in a win over Southeastern on short rest, Montina scored 20 points and pulled down seven rebounds. It marked the fifth time Miami, Fla. (North Miami HS) native has scored over 20 points in a game.
Bobcat women's basketball players has won conference Player of the Week honors four of the last six weeks. In addition to this week, Montina won the award for the week ending Dec. 19. Junior forward
Dannisha Pierce was honored for the week ending Jan. 9 and junior guard
Roxyali Muñoz won the award on Dec. 5.

TH ranked Bobcats (16-4, 6-0) continue Sun Conference play with a road game this Saturday vs. backyard rival Florida Memorial. STU's next home game is Friday, January 20 vs. Ave Maria at the Fernandez Family Center.
