MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. - For the fifth time in school history and the first time since 2007, St. Thomas University has qualified for the NAIA Baseball World Series.  The Bobcats will travel to Lewiston, Idaho for the 59th annual event that runs May 22-29.

The Bobcats will be the ninth seed at the ten-team, double-elimination tournament and will play no. 8 seed Concordia (Calif.)Â on Friday at 3 p.m. ET.

St. Thomas earned a berth in the World Series by winning the Lawrenceville, Ga. bracket of the NAIA Opening Round, defeating top seed and host Georgia Gwinnett 8-2 in the championship game.

The 20th ranked Bobcats went 3-1 at the five-team, double-elimination NAIA Opening Round, twice defeating fourth ranked Georgia Gwinnett.

It marks the fifth time St. Thomas has qualified for the NAIA World Series (1996, 1998, 2000, 2007, 2015).
